Mrs. Ashley Handrych, Superintendent
I have been fortunate to work at Lakeview throughout all of my years in education. After graduating from Bethany College, I returned to Lakeview in 2006 as a special education teacher, then served as elementary school counselor, Director of Federal Programs, Director of Food Services, and a building principal at Lakeview Middle School. As a proud Lakeview graduate, I have both spirit and passion for the community and am a fierce advocate for public education and our schools. My journey from student to superintendent speaks to my commitment to lifelong learning and my unwavering dedication to serving the needs of students and families. My experiences in the district have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our schools. I believe in empowering educators and families to work together to create a supportive and enriching learning environment. I am committed to building upon the district’s rich legacy of academic excellence and fostering communication and involvement with Bazetta and Cortland communities. It's always a great day to be a Bulldog!

Mr. Eddie Mackiewicz, Elementary Principal
This is a particularly exciting time for me and my family, not just because it is my first year as principal, but because I get to return home to Lakeview. I graduated from Lakeview in 2006 and am so grateful to be able to give back to a school district that provided me with such a tremendous education. My wife Amy and I live in the community with our three children, two of which attend Lakeview Schools and our third will be soon.
Before joining Lakeview in this leadership role, I spent many years working in education as both a teacher and as a curriculum & instruction supervisor. I hold a Master's Degree in School Psychology from Kent State University and have obtained a principal license through Notre Dame College. It is through these experiences that I have built a strong knowledge of the education system and the importance of fostering a positive learning environment.
My top priority at Lakeview Elementary is to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and excited to learn. We will be working hard to create a welcoming atmosphere where all students can thrive. I believe open communication is key, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your support!
